Cold Atmospheric Plasma has antitumoral effects due to two determining factors:

-Inhibition of the migratory phenotype of tumor cells, therefore reducing the rate of metastasis

– Induction of lethal damage in DNA, stopping the cell cycle and causing tumor cells apoptotic death . This significantly reduces the likelihood of local recurrence.

Studies of the use of Atmospheric Cold Plasma on tumor cells show that it mainly affects cells in the DNA replication phase (Phase S), which is the case of a large percentage of cancer cells. Its effect on healthy cells is negligible

 

These in vivo experiments show the great potential of PlasmAction Vet in the treatment of tumors, especially in its application on the surgical area after its removal.
